Draft Assessment: Wendell

Wendell is one of the few men on this season over the age of thirty, but he doesn’t mention a spouse or children, so he may be able to blend in easily with his younger tribemates. He also seems to be easy-going, and he claims he has great puzzle skills, which is an increasingly important skill to have based on the types of challenges in the past ten seasons. He also compares himself to Survivor: Cambodia winner Jeremy Collins, who played a brilliant social and strategic game. To top it all off, Wendell builds furniture for a living, so his skills will be utilized to help his tribe build a solid shelter. What’s not to like about this guy? The only problem is, he may be too good to be last long on Survivor, when all his tribemates will be looking to get out the biggest threats.

Bottom line: Wendell has a lot going for him, but he will have to lie low. If he puts himself out there too much, he could be labeled as a threat. That said, he may make a great Sole Survivor pick for those FSG players who feel he can deflect the target off his back.
