Episode 9 Player Rankings

Each week, we rank the remaining players in order of those we think are most likely to stay in the game to those who have the highest chance to be voted out next week. This player ranking is not definitive, but may provide a little insight on possible outcomes in the next episode. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Last week, I put Libby on the bottom of the rankings, and she did end up getting voted out after Michael played his idol to save himself. Although it looks like Michael is still in trouble next week, the previews show some fractures in the Naviti alliance. Is CBS trying to distract us with a red herring, or is Naviti really going to start falling apart? Read my rankings below to see how I think this might play out.

LAUREL (points earned: 1. Total points earned: 14)

Laurel is perfectly positioned in the middle of both alliances. Even though she is a former Malolo, Wendell and Domenick want to work with her, and it appears that Kellyn’s alliance does as well. There’s no reason she should be targeted anytime soon. However, she’s probably going to make a big move in the next few weeks (possibly to vote out Wendell), and depending on how it works out, her position may change.

DONATHAN (points earned: 1. Total points earned: 13)

Donathan and Laurel are both positioned well. I only put Donathan slightly below Laurel because she seems to have a slightly better read on the game, but it’s really a toss up.

SEBASTIAN (points earned: 0. Total points earned: 14)

Nobody is talking about Sebastian. Not only is he not a threat, he’s turning into a possible goat that could be dragged to the end. That’s good for him in the short term, since he’s probably not getting voted out soon, but bad in the long term because there’s no way he’s winning the game.

CHELSEA (points earned: 1. Total points earned: 13)

Chelsea continues to be under the radar, so there’s no reason she should be targeted next week.

KELLYN (points earned: 1. Total points earned: 17)

Despite the fact that Kellyn holds a lot of power in this game, no one seems to be concerned about her. Perhaps this speaks to the strong social game she’s playing. However, it does look like her alliance will begin to fall apart next week. Desiree might be targeting her, but Kellyn has enough allies to keep her safe.

WENDELL (points earned: 2. Total points earned: 22)

Wendell slipped in the rankings this week because his blunder in telling Laurel about his idol may have cost him an ally of two. He’s already a big threat, but his target on his back is getting even bigger. Now it’s possible that Laurel joins the Naviti women to blindside him in order to break up his alliance with Dom and flush his idol in one swift move (though not likely to happen next week).

DOMENICK (points earned: 2. Total points earned: 30)

Domenick still has a huge target on his back because he is aligned with Wendell and most of the players at this point probably know or at least suspect that both of them have idols. He has too much power, and it’s not likely to last unless he can pull out a Tony Vlachos-esque bag of tricks.

ANGELA (points earned: 3. Total points earned: 17)

Angela did have a good week in episode 9, but the fact that she’s starting to play harder could end up coming back to haunt her if her allies see her as less of a goat and more of a strategic threat (or at least a wildcard who’s willing to make big moves).

JENNA (points earned: 1. Total points earned: 11)

Although Donathan and Laurel are also former Malolos, they are doing a great job forming bonds with the Navitis. Jenna and Michael are the two most vulnerable former Malolos. Jenna could be an easy vote next week; however, because her closest ally Libby is gone, she may no longer be perceived as a threat.

DESIREE (points earned: 0. Total points earned: 11)

Desiree was in a great position last week, but I’m going to go ahead and trust that the previews are hinting that Desiree may be attempting to go rogue and target a former ally (Kellyn?). It’s not likely that she’ll succeed, and she may end up digging her own grave by trying to make a big move too early.

MICHAEL (points earned: 1. Total points earned: 12)

Now that Michael doesn’t have an idol, he will be the prime target in the next episode. His only hope is that the Navitis start turning on each other, which is possible if the previews for next week are to be believed. However, I’m still putting Michael on the bottom because without an idol or many allies, he’s the safest bet to go home next week.
