Although she could have worked with Desiree and the Malolos to get rid of Kellyn, Domenick, and Wendell, Laurel decided to side with Dom and Wendell because she trusts them more. With ten people still left in the game, trust is a rare and valuable thing. Laurel may have to betray Dom and Wendell eventually, but making a move against them this episode would have been too early.

Domenick convincing Kellyn to vote out Desiree

Since Dom voted out his arch nemesis Chris, he’s shown a more patient, thoughtful side that has allowed him to calmly assess situations without paranoia getting the better of him. Had he not stuck to his guns, Naviti would still have a traitor in their midst, which would have caused a lot of problems down the line.

Donathan finding both halves of the idol

Finding idols sometimes looks really easy on Survivor, but securing the second half of the Scot/Tai idol that was under the shelter looked quite difficult. Because Kellyn is a loyal ally herself, she assumes her other allies are just as loyal.
